I'd like all fields to have a large enough cell width so that all of the content appears on one line except comments which I'd like to have set at 300 wide and all cells left justified.

Thanks for asking. Although neither aspect (column width nor text alignment) can be set when creating the report, since the default widths of its columns are determined by the widths of their headers and the headers are the labels of the form's fields, by including a number of HTML non-breaking spaces in the form's labels, it is possible to control the width of each column. To illustrate, clone this form, create a table report and view the said report.
Unfortunately, the formatting of email alerts suffer but thankfully, my tests also show that the submission records are not affected.
In order to accommodate the non-breaking spaces, the form's labels had to be right-aligned. Also, due to the high number of non-breaking spaces to the left of the text area's label, CSS was injected to reposition that label and make it fully visible.
Extensive use of non-breaking spaces does not necessarily adhere to the best coding practices and as such, it would be better if the Reports Wizard allowed users to both adjust the width of each column and choose their preferred text alignment. If you wish, I can submit a request for those features to be included in future updates to the form builder.
Should you need further assistance with adjusting the column widths of the report, please let us know. Our team stands ready to help you however best we can.
