    Spell checking in form fields

Asked by quintagyo on December 15, 2014 at 10:43 AM

    Hi,

I'm implementing my forms and I notice that when the text areas are being filled out, a spellchecker automatically registers if the user misspells something.

My form is in Spanish, but when the user inputs grammatical Spanish, it shows errors. I tried changing the language of the form as well as the language of JotForm (at the bottom of the form design page), but the problem persists.

Is there a way to simply deactivate spellchecking so that the user doesn't see the red underlining as they fill out the form?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi quintagyo,

There is no spell checked built into our form fields.

The spell check that you are currently seeing appearing in your form field is browser specific. If your language is selected to Spanish on your form, if the language of your browser is set to English, it would detect errors when a different language is used.

I hope this information has been helpful. Please feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

Okay ... I see. The errors will show up for anyone who inputs in a language that the browser is not set to. Makes sense.

Thanks very much for your help, Shadae. Have a great day.
