I have been trying to post a question to the Forum for a while each time i submitted the question it failed to show up in the Forum list of threads

Then i realised that i had a VPN set up on my system, so i dissabled it and hey...am able to post again.

Is your Forum set up to work this way??????

    Thx

This depends if the VPN uses a shared IP. In this case you might get blocked or asked to complete a captcha to access it. Also if using a suspicious IP could result in blocking or captcha.

But if you are using a dedicated IP you should be able to post in the support forum.

We're you logged in to your account at the moment of the posting?

I can definitely answer one of your questions

Yes i was logged into my account at the time.

The VPN service i use provides an IP at the time of setting up and it only lasts for a period if you constantly use the internet, so i would suspect the IP is constant for that time period.

After a certain time lapse of no use  the VPN disconnects, and you have to reset the VPN.

The issue i had was whilst i was actively using the internet and the VPN was definately active.

    Hi John,

To my knowledge, whether you are using VPN connection or not to login to JotForm, it should be no issue as long as the IP being used is not blocked listed on our end.

If you can logged in to your JotForm account within your VPN connection, then you should be also able to  post question on the support forum http://www.jotform.com/contact/

Can you please confirm if this was the conflict you were having?

    1. You were  logged in to JotForm using VPN connection

    2. BUT you cannot post question in the support forum http://www.jotform.com/contact/

Can you share also to us the IP address at the time when using your VPN. We can check if the IP have issue on our end.

Hope this help. Inform us if issue persist.

    Thanks.

    Hello

The environment you describe is correct

    1. I was connected to Jotform and signed on using my account via the VPN connection

    2. I tried several times to post a question and failed in the way i described in the initial post

I cannot remember the IP address at the time but if you want me to set up a test  i can do that please let me know.

    Hi John,

If you are still experiencing the issue on the given scenario, it will greatly help us investigate also if you can setup and test again.

Inform us if the issue persist and provide to us the IP address used during the time and we will check.

    Thanks!

    OK

I am now confused i just set up my VPN and then did a Google on my IP and i got a return of

    78.110.165.187

I then tried to sign on , however my Chrome Browser remembered that i was already singed on so i never went through the sign on process on this IP

I then opened up a test Question on the Forum at

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/478748-Test-VPN-Post#0

and it worked OK.... very odd this did not happen before.

Why is this thread getting so many hits????

    Hi John,

I can see your test post within your VPN connection

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/478748-Test-VPN-Post#0

I checked the IP address 78.110.165.187 and found no issue. It is currently the IP address associated to your login account glandoreghyc

Perhaps what you have encountered previously was just a temporary connection issue and had been resolved since.

If you can consistently reproduce the issue, please let us know so that when can investigate more.

Why is this thread getting so many hits????

You meant the number of "Views" right. The question or "VPN" must be a known term in google search, this must be the reason for the number of hits.

    Thanks.
