Unable to run searchs through my forms using the latest version of the iPhone app

Asked by emorgan1981 on December 20, 2014 at 01:17 PM

I got a new iPhone and thus have the newest version of the app now....and I'm at a complete loss as for what to do because I can no longer search and access the more than 3 years of forms with vital info on my clients. I used to be able to put any combination of letters or numbers into the search box and bring up all of the forms that had that combination....now it always says no results. I'll begin to enter a name - one that I KNOW is in a form (IE one that was even entered just this week!) - and after typing in two letters of the name it just says "no results" - and I have waited awhile thinking there might be a delay - nothing.

Is there a way to get an old version of the app?

Is there something extra I can do/pay for that would solve this issue?

    Please help!

Hi Ericka, I'm Kade and I'm in charge of Mobile Testing for our iOS App. I did get your email about your this problem and have been looking into it. Originally it seemed fine but as of today it seems like something has gone wrong so we do apologize about this major inconvenience and thank you for reporting this to us.

To my knowledge we've been recently testing different methods to speed up the loading times with the app. This means that we've had to make a few changes in the existing code including placing some limits to help with the app optimizations.

As far as I know this had only been for the testing build and not the final build which you have been using which should still work but after testing this more again just now I can see there is a huge issue as of now seems be broken. I have alerted our iOS Developer about it so that we can look into getting this problem fixed immediately.

Both Myself and our iOS Developer have checked it again just now as of about 10 minutes ago now that I am responding to you with this update and it is working normally as it should we see.

We both have come to the conclusion that it was most likely just a temporary issue where you may have been trying to access it during server a connection loss or routine server|api maintenance which can happen and that might have lead to the appearance of this problem. When this happens it is best to wait a little while then try again because the App runs using the Server API to connect our servers to your Account then pull the submission and form information from your account into your App on your mobile device and the delay probably stuck due to this.

I've cleared your form caches on your account to refresh this. Please follow the instructions below to resolve this issue on your end.

1 - Delete the JotForm App from your iPhone.

2 - Do a Hard Reset for your iPhone by holding down the home button and the power button for a few seconds until your mobile device restarts itself.

3 - Go back into your App Store on your iPhone and reinstall the JotForm App.

4 - Now log back into your account and everything should now be there.

However, if this issue continues on your end then please let us know so that we can investigate it on your account furthermore.

I sure appreciate your help looking into this...I deleted the app, did a hard reset, reinstalled and signed into the app, and it is doing the same thing...I type in some letters into the search box and it says "no results"......it's just killing me too bc this app has been the most ingenious and easy to use app for my business ever....I can type in the name of a client and have all their info at my fingertips!!! I don't know what I'll do without it!!! Any advice or suggestions are welcome!!!!!

Your message has reached my colleague @KadeJM. He will check and get back to you as soon as he is available online. I also tested the iPhone app in my old 4S device and I am also not able to search. I am sharing my findings with @KadeJM.
