Form Designer automatically makes forms responsive once a change is saved

Asked by GREGORYJUREK on December 23, 2014 at 08:10 PM

I am about fed up with my forms changing on their own and not looking like they're supposed to. And what is up with the new designed which doesn't work? And what happened to the easy tools to make changes? Now I have to wait for a designer to load. I can't change any forms because they will all be screwed up like the last 2 I made changes to. They look nothing like previewed!!!

Why is there a "sample logo" which I did not add, nor can I delete! This is beyond frustrating!

Sorry for the trouble caused. It seems that you have made changes from the Form Designer. The form designer automatically adjusts the form to be responsive that enables a better view on mobiles and tablets. The preview window that you are seeing here is smaller than the desktop view and hence it shows the responsive version. As you see the actual JotForm on a separate tab, you can see the better view of your JotForm.

Also, if you want to remove the logo please follow the steps below :

    1. Open the JotForm and Click on Designer to open it in designer mode

    2. Click on the Sample logo image

    3. Form the right menu, Click on Clear where it shows the path of the logo from Form Cover dropdown.

    4. Save the JotForm and preview it

Please let us know if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you!!

Well, that doesn’t provide an answer to the problem. How can I make it go back to how it was before the designer was forced to be used? I even checked to make sure the form was NOT responsive. Click the tab at the bottom of this webpage and you’ll see what I mean: http://www.pwcoperator.com/opfac.html

In addition to my last reply, of course I used the Form Designer. THAT’S THE ONLY OPTION NOW THAT YOU TOOK THE OTHER OPTIONS AWAY! And you never answered why there is now a sample logo there that cannot be deleted. I’m too afraid to edit any other my forms because this will probably happen to my other forms. What the hell did you guys do?????

    Hello,

How can I make it go back to how it was before the designer was forced to be used?

Sorry for the inconvenience. You can use the Form Revision tool to revert back before changes were made.

What my colleague Kiran said about the form being responsive once you use the form designer is true. It will automatically adjust the form to be responsive, so it will adapt depending on the screen size or window size.

And you never answered why there is now a sample logo there that cannot be deleted.

It is possible that you intentionally or unintentionally press the "Form Cover" options in the Form Designer tool. Please check the screenshot below.

Once you click the "Form Cover" the sample logo image will automatically appears.

Hope this helps. Thank you for your patience.

    Hi Gregory,

Regarding http://www.pwcoperator.com/opfac.html, as a workaround, in your webpage source, increasing the width parameter of the lightbox containing the jotform from 700px to about 775px should "unstretch" the fields:

Now, when I cloned the jotform in question I noticed that the fields were stretched in the form builder. I also noticed that there was no injected CSS which is strange because when a change is made to a jotform in the form designer, lots of injected CSS gets added. I tested it with a form I just created and that's what happened in that form.

It may be necessary to revert the form to an earlier version. Do you know when the form started exhibiting stretched fields in the form builder? If so, revert the form to the version immediately before that change and see if it helps to remove the responsive behavior.

On the other issue, I see that you got the sample logo removed per my colleague's instructions.

To my knowledge, reverting to the previous version of the form builder is not currently possible.

As to the jotform becoming responsive even though it wasn't set that way, this is a known issue which our developers are working to resolve. Nevertheless, I have still submitted another ticket on it on your behalf.

    Thanks
