How to receive edit link in email?

Asked by guineapigme on December 28, 2014 at 10:30 PM

I have added the edit link to an autoresponder form (supposedly) but either don't see the mail with this in it - or only see the test mail which doesn't have an actual link, just the bracketed intent.

I have no way to test this without repeated submissions (which aren't working) and am using up my submissions.

I need a simple editable link for the form to allow a user to continually edit the same form.

    Hello guineapigme,

Clicking on "Test Email" button will just test the email alert template but does not create any submissions and that is why the edit link does not work with test email button.

To be able to allow your users to edit the submissions, you should add the "{edit_link}" tag in your form's email alert which you have done correctly.

But just adding an edit link and an autoresponder will not send the submission emails to the user. You need to let the form know on what is the user's email address on which the submission email with edit link needs to be sent. I did check your form and you do not have any email field added where user can input email address nor it is selected in the autoresponder email template. Please check the screenshot below:

Here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Add an email field in your form.

    2. Set that email field to be the "Recipient Email" of the autoresponder email alert as displayed in the screenshot above.

    3. Set the "Sender Email" to the desired email (noreply@jotform.com or deborah.savage1@gmail.com custom sender you have added)

    4. You have already set the {edit_link} correctly but you may like to move the {ip} and {pdf-link} in separate lines. This will not create any issue but I suggest from the readability point of view. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this answers your query.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
