How to retain the form state including the input data after the submit button is clicked?

Asked by guineapigme on December 28, 2014 at 10:32 PM

I would like the user to be able to submit/save the form without the window changing - that is, I would like to leave the editable/edited form on the page but just have the submission go on in the background.

My form is embedded on a wix website and this seems to yield a new page and I cannot get back to the edited version of the form.

Is there a way for the thank you to just be a popup so that the form itself is not destroyed

    Hello guineapigme,

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to display the thank you message in a new new window. If you are ready to embed your form with its full source code, it is possible to achieve your requirement by adding custom script code. Please take a look at the following thread where my colleague have explain it in detail:  http://www.jotform.com/answers/181798-Ability-to-show-the-Thank-You-Message-in-a-pop-up-version-so-that-users-can-simply-close-the-pop-up-window-and-go-back-to-site

Another alternative is to redirect your user to the same form and populate the values by taking advantage of our "URL Parameter" feature. The following guide should help you:

Redirect user to same form:  http://www.jotform.com/help/38-Redirecting-Users-to-a-Different-Page

    URL Parameter:  http://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-fields-to-your-JotForm-via-URL-parameters

Please take a look at the following screenshot for more clarity on how to achieve this:

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
