Clicking the Save Button Stays Active or Does Not Seem To Save the Changes

Asked by Nolasol on January 01, 2015 at 08:01 AM

    Hi,

I have a multipage (8 pages) form and today I can't use the manual SAVE option.
"Auto Saving" is working correctly but if I click to SAVE button (icon), nothing happens.

In earlier time I could use this button to save anytime my project, today I have to use Preview function to initialize auto-saving inmediately.

Can you help me to get back saving function? :-)

    Friendly

    Szia Noemi,

I have just tested it and it seems to be working properly for me. Could you please let us know if you are still experiencing the same issue? If so what is the browser that you are using when you experience this?

I would also like to suggest, if the issue is still present for you, to clear your browser cache and see if that changes things for you.

You can do that by following these steps: 15 Ways to Clear Your Browser's Cache - wikiHow

Do let us know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Szia Ben :-) ,

I use Chrome v39 on Windows Pro 8.1 OS.

Until today I could use SAVE function without any trouble, this is the first day I experience this problem.

I deleted all items from browser-cache, restarted my system - but no change, SAVE doesn't work, Preview with auto-saving is the only method I can use for saving immediately at this moment.

I'm waiting for your opinions :-)

    Thank you

    Noemi

    Hi,

Upon checking your account and cloning this form http://www.jotformeu.com/form/43233413574349, I was able to replicate the problem that you have. When clicking the "Save" button, it doesn't show like it saved the changes, the button remains active. I'll again escalate this to our developers and back end team so that they can take a closer look. But I'm guessing the errors and problems you are having may be related to the number of widgets and fields that you have in your form.

We'll get back to you immediately when we receive an update.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Charlie,

I'm afraid now, I can't reduce the number of fields on my form and if it would be a real trouble, I would lose my whole work in the last months :-(

In preview mode everything looks like working well, but I didn't finish yet the building of this form and I will insert more fields and 3 more pages to make it publicable on our website...

I will be so frustrated, if JotForm can't handle my project...

Please, inform me about answer of developer team...

    Thank you

    Noemi

    Hello Noemi,

Since the issue is already escalated to our backend team, they'll look into the issue and provide you with necessary assistance. Please let us know if you have observed this issue after making any changes to this JotForm viz., adding a new widget, etc. This information might help us in investing the issue quickly.

    Thanks!

    Hello Noemi,

I've checked your form and found out that it is too huge that it maxed the limit out of saving the form to the database. What I can recommend is to divide the form into two so you'll have two forms and set your thank you page on your 1st half of the form going to the 2nd half of the form.

If you have other questions or concerns, please do let us know.

    Thanks.

Hello again, Noemi.  Further investigation seems to show that there's an error caused by the translations you've set. If you can remove or revert back from where there were no translations set on your form, saving should work.

    Thanks.

    Hello again, Noemi.

I've made some fixes that should let you save your form even with the errors.

If the problem persists on your end please do let us know.

    Thanks.

Hi there, I'm having the exact same issue. Save button does nothing. I have 18 text area fields so I think it might be the problem you were refering to about the form being too big?

I just tried deleting all text area boxes except 3 and it still doesnt' save so it's not that there are too many fields? :-(
