How to have form contents go into a new form based on an approval or denial process?

I asked you guys this question before and you said I couldn't do it the "logical way".

Essentially what I need is a form that needs to go to a supervisor, the supervisor then needs to check a box for approval or denial of the request (for example, a time off request). If the supervisor denies the request, it should email the employee back and tell them they've been denied. If the supervisor approves it, it needs to get sent to the lead manager for final approval, or denial (starting the process over again).

I had setup some rules that say if the approval box is checked send here, or there, but your developer said that email responses being sent out never work after the initial submission- so that process and logic will not work.

Has that changed yet? this was a couple months ago.

If it still doesn't send out emails after the initial submission- is it possible to have the contents of the submission sent to a new form, that can then do an email submission to the lead manager etc? It was a suggestion from you guys before...but now I really need this working.

    Hi chatfieldschools,

It is still not possible to have a different email notification after the initial submission.

Yes it is possible to have the contents of one form sent to another form. You would have to pass the information through the form URL.

    Please see the steps below:

    1. Copy the field tags in your 1st form. These tags must be the fields that you'd like to transfer into the 2nd form.

    To get field tags,

    2. Copy your 2nd Form URL e.g. and construct the URL parameter for prepopulating value from the 1st form to the 2nd form. Prepopulating the fields to your JotForm via URL parameters.

To explain:  - is your second form URL

{name} & {email} - These are field tags from your first form as explained on the first step.

name1 & email21  These are field names from the second form. This is where the value from the first form be prefilled in.

You would use the same steps to find the field tags for your second form.

You can include the link with the parameters in the original email, and have the conditions set on the second form to determine what email will be sent out based on it being approved.

I hope this helps, please inform us if you need further assistance.
