Import/attach Excel file to submit

This is sooooo close to what I need for my team on both coasts! Is there ANY way to embed the "import" button into Excel? I have 14-15 operators who each have to submit a report at the end of their shift - and it's primarily all numbers. When they (manually) input the numbers into the Jotform, "fat fingers" sometimes prevail and 2,500 units can become 2,500,000 units, etc. If I could embed this type of process, no more bad numbers! Yes, if the form stopped at Jotform, it's an easy fix - but within a few minutes, the form is pulled (indirectly) into Zoho, for which I have no access to make corrections - I have to wait until "that person" is available. Pretty please!!!!!

    Hello Craig,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support for showing interest. We're glad that you found a clear path on how Joform will be able to help you and I sense that you need this because the data they will submit is critical. I’ll do my best to help you out.

I am not that sure if I understand what you are trying to achieve correctly. Can you share with us more information? Also, are you requiring them to upload Excel files? If yes, the File Upload element can suffice the requirements you needed without the help of the Import App.

you can check this guide on how to create File Upload forms or you can see the screencast below for a demo:

    • Go to the Build tab, and click the Add Form Element.
    • Scroll down and look for the File Upload element, you can click or drag it to add to the form.

By default, below is the list of file types that the File Upload element is accepting:

    • PDF
    • DOC
    • DOCX
    • XLS
    • XLSX
    • CSV
    • TXT
    • RTF
    • HTML
    • ZIP
    • MP3
    • WMA
    • MPG
    • FLV
    • AVI
    • JPG
    • JPEG
    • PNG
    • GIF

The Excel file is added as a default file which means they can submit a form with the Excel file attached.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you.

I understand all that - what I'm trying to avoid is having to give my username/password out to all of my operators (24/7 operations) so they can submit it via this method. I understand I can add users to our JotForm account - if we upgrade to Enterprise... just not sure I would be able to sell that cost to the CEO. Oh well, back to the drawing board! I can probably work some VBA and DAX magic and bypass JotForms altogether.

    Hi Craig,

Thanks for getting back to us. You can also use of Spreadsheet widget. When spreadsheet data needs to be collected, analyzed, and submitted in a simple spreadsheet format, the Spreadsheet widget is the ideal tool you can use. Your form users can now submit structured data sets that you can use in a spreadsheet – or for any purpose where cell-value data sets are critical.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.
