Hello SeanCutting,
You can take advantage of our "Shrink" feature to position the form fields next to each other. The following guide should help you: http://www.jotform.com/help/90-Form-Field-Positioning
You can then inject custom css code in your form to further customize the width/padding of form fields. Alternatively, you can also take advantage of our "Form Designer" as well to customize your form fields. You may like to take a look at the following video guide which should explain you on how to use form designer: http://www.jotform.com/help/300-Form-Designer-Tutorial-Let-s-create-fantastic-forms
Hope this helps.
Do get back to us if you have any questions or if you have any trouble and we will surely help you.
Thank you!
