Hello Folks!
We're excited to share the first update this year, our 16th Edition!
We're glad to be part of making your form awesome - giving you the opportunity to offer powerful features for your form:
1. Rich Content
2. Mapping
3. Drawing
4. Pickers
5. Calculation
6. Social
7. Verification
In our support processes which often involve fixing a bug or adding an essential feature, we have seen our widgets being used to deliver core business services - from selling products and services online to managing administrative processes.
Some of our users even use our widgets in complex multi-platform applications to meet specific or general requirements.
Whichever way you use the widget - it opens up new frontiers to the vast possibilities and features of using your Jotform.
Endless Possibilities
Are you selling something online? You can use the Inventory widget among others to manage each of your products.
Do you have a list of items you want your users to choose from? Try one of the pickers or select boxes.
Or perhaps you have a Video you wish to show on your form? We have embed widgets for many popular video sharing sites. Our verification widgets have also been used extensively for administrative approval workflows - especially the smooth signature.
The possibilities are endless - I couldn't possibly list them all.
New Frontiers
We learn a lot from our users - and we're always excited to see new creations using Jotform Widgets - Some users have gone as far as to build complete applications where some of our widgets are the key in the core functionality - like our featured widget this week - Dynamic Dropdowns.
There are limitless possibilities, and we are glad to experience them with you - so go ahead - extend the limits of your form - look into the horizon and imagine the possibility.
~
We've been busy this Winter, trying to meet industry standards and leverage new third party features. Here's a couple of the newest features:
We've had Google Analytics in our widget gallery for a while now, but Google has since released Universal Analytics which captures a whole range of features and new methods in collecting, analysing and reporting website visitor activity.
We've updated Google Analytics Widget to work with Universal Analytics tracking code. If you already had it on your form, it will still work with the old tracking code - but there are a lot of benefits with working with the new upgrade - so go ahead and consider updating the code:
Go ahead and track your form user's activity on your form with Google Analytics.
The Google reCAPTCHA widget engages the latest technology in the fight against spam. Using sophisticated risk analysis engines, the Google reCAPTCHA now makes it easy for legitimate users to pass their spam check, while making it harder for bots to pass the challenge.
Add the latest Spam protection to your form with Google reCAPTCHA
Our Featured Widget:
When we made Dynamic Dropdowns, we had no idea that it would turn out to be one of the Widgets that can be used from simple to complex forms. We have seen this widget used on apps which work across multiple servers, and forms with a wide variety of dynamic options.
Dynamic Dropdowns generates dropdown fields on your form which are conditionally connected - depending on which option you selected in the previous dropdown:
This simple Parent - Child relationship between each dropdown allows users to create an intricate series of choices for your users using Dynamic Dropdowns.
Dynamic Dropdowns is one of our top widgets - see it in action by clicking here.
As one of the most popular social networks, Twitter has revolutionized the way we communicate.
Using the twitter widget, you can add your twitter profile stream on your form - allowing people to send tweets to you directly from your form. You can also add a specific, static update from your twitter profile:
We've made a few alignment fixes - now you can position the widget where you would like it on the form.
Interact with one of the largest social networks using your form by adding the Twitter Widget.
User Contributed Dropdown not only adds a Dropdown field on your form, it allows your users to interact with your form by dynamically adding the options available in the dropdown:
We've improved the widget's interaction with the form builder, as well as some browser compatibility issues.
Check out the User Contributed Dropdown in action.
You guessed it!
The User Contributed Checkbox also interacts with your form user - allowing your form users to add options to your checklist:
We've updated the widget to interact better with the form builder and fixed an issue with Internet Explorer 8.

You guessed Two for Two!
Yes - the User Contributed Radio Buttons works very much like the other widgets in the User Contributed Series. This widget adds radio buttons to your form, and allows your form users to interact with the form by dynamically adding options to your radio buttons:
You can now adjust the widget width with the form builder - we've also fixed the font setting to match whichever font you have configured on your form.
The User Contributed Radio Buttons is perfect when you want your users to contribute to the list of available options. Click here to see more.
The Multiselect Grid widget adds a grid on your form. The grid is used to present options to your users who will pick cells from the grid depending on the row/column cross reference:
We've added a feature that checks for previous grid selections, and makes them unavailable once selected. This is incredibly useful for booking grids for calendar, appointment slots, reserving tools or equipment among many other uses.
See Multiselect Grid in action here.
Share your videos on your form with ease with the Vimeo Widget. All you need is the Vimeo Widget URL, which you will paste into the widget settings to display your video for your form users:
We fixed a conflict the widget had with page breaks - and now you can use it on multipage forms.
Watch and share your favorite Vimeo videos on your form with the Vimeo Widget.
The Numeric Slider widget is a different way of collecting numeric values.
It engages your form user by requiring them to slide across a bar to select the desired numeric value:
We've made a number of updates to the widget:
1. Fixed Internet Explorer Compatibility issues
2. Improved interaction with mobile browsers
3. Added a feature that allows you to preset the default value/position of the slider
4. Fixed some bugs with the widget settings and form validation
The Numeric Slider widget is now updated, tested and ready to deploy on your form!
2014 was an awesome year, and we owe it all to you.
As always, we appreciate all your feedback and reports concerning widget performance on your form - they help keep the widgets updated, compatible and bug free.
