How to change the name of the PDF Document and PDF File?

PDF attachment to the e-mail message.

Can we automate and rename the PDF file that is sent?

Is there a way to use a field in the form, for example the "first and last name", so the PDF attachment file is named this when it is sent as a PDF attachment to the e-mail message.

    Example:

I make a employment form. I choose to have a PDF attachment sent to the e-mail message upon submission of the form. The users name who completed the form is "John Smith", so when he submits the form, and I receive the email with the PDF attachment to the e-mail message, the PDF file is named John-Smith.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can change the name of the PDF Document and PDF File that is sent to the form fillers. Let me show you how.

To change the name of the PDF Document:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Downward Arrow icon at the top-left of the page and click on PDF Editor.

    2. In PDF Editor, select your PDF at the blue navigation bar and click on the Three dots icon, then click on Rename and edit it.

To change the name of the PDF File that is sent to form fillers via the Autoresponder Email:

    1. In PDF Editor, click on the Gear icon at the right corner of the page.

    2. In PDF Settings, under the PDF File Name, click on the Pen icon, hover your mouse over the Submission ID, and delete it.

    3. Click on Form Fields and check the Full Name. That’s it!

To change the name of a PDF document, you can simply right-click on the file, select "Rename", and type in the desired name. To change the name of a PDF file when saving it, use the "Save As" function and type in the desired name. For example, if you want to add "instadp" to the name of the file, simply type "instadp" before the file extension (e.g. instadp_document.pdf). This will ensure that the file is saved with the new name and can be easily identified.

@Oliver, fantastic this is exactly what I was asking, thank you.

Now another question. How can we also send the a copy of the PDF attachment to the email that the user entered in the form field as their email address?

Example: John Smith fills out the employment application and in the form he enters abc@aol.com as his email. How can he also get a copy of the PDF attachment to abc@aol.com once he submits the form?

Nevermind I found it under AUTORESPONDER > Advanced > PDF Attachment

    Thank you,

    Paul
