API needed to load private form emails?

    Hello,

    I am setting up an online business to coach my clients on business start-ups.

    This involves my clients working through a series assignments (depending on which product they have selected), using Jotform forms as the assignment templates.

    I would like your recommendation on the best option or options for workflow and user experience once a new client purchases a product on my website.

    Currently, to keep my website more simple, I do not have "user profiles" or other tools to manage the history and products clients purchase.

    Essentially, once they have made the payment, I need the client to receive the URL (or often a set of URLs for multiple assignments). I would like this to be a fairly swift process with the client receiving notification of access to the forms quickly.

    I need the forms to be private.

    I am imagining the workflow as follows (but I am open to other approaches);

    1. Client makes successful credit card payment on my website, providing their email in the process
    2. Not sure if relevant, but some assignments will be free. So still need email captured, but not in payment process
    3. API (? if needed?) software to add new email to all relevant forms (depending on the package the client purchased), allowing the client access to the private forms
    4. Client receives a notification for Jotform access

    My questions are;

    1. Does this seem like a sensible workflow?
    2. Is API software required to load the clients email as an approved user of the private form? If so, are any API software platforms more suitable than others to work with Jotform. What do you recommend?
    3. When the client receives a notification, can it appear to be generated from my website rather than Jotform? Ie - email notification has my domain name and branding?
    4. My assumption is that the most simple solution is to create an interface to Jotform rather than building more sophistication into my own website - but I am open to other approaches if beneficial (and low cost).

    Regards,

    Conan

    Hello Magill_Conan,

    Thanks for reaching out to us for help. I'm glad that you are using our platform to start your online business. First, I would like you to check out this link for a general overview on the starting process. Please note that Jotform Inc. treats your forms as private, unless you make them available to members of the public. You can check out our Privacy Policy guide for more details.

    Regarding the question about the desired workflow, we have a documentation of Jotform API, you can check it out through this link. However, please note that the API is mostly read-only. You are able to retrieve submission and form information, but not to update and create forms. The Jotform API allows users to update and add form fields if they using a Post or Put method. You can also contact our API team if you have any additional questions here: api@jotform.com.

    Also, you can remove Jotform branding from your forms once you have a paid subscription, that includes forms and the emails. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. Click on your avatar icon found on the top right part of your screen.

    2. Click Settings and scroll down to the Jotform Branding.

    3. Uncheck the show Powered by Jotform on my forms option

    4. You can also delete the Jotform branding on your Autoresponder emails by clicking on it and select the Delete Row option.

    Lastly, you can consider upgrading to Jotform Enterprise. You can use this link to contact the Enterprise sales team.
