How can I show results from previous entry (fetched from database) on form?

My user enters a meter reading on the form.  The next time the form is opened, I would like to display the value they entered previously on the form so they can see if the new reading is higher or lower.

I know you can prepopulate fields using the URL.  Is there a way I can get the value of the last form entry, then feed that into the form URL?  Is there another, better way?

    Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, there are no membership options provided with the JotForm based forms, so we cannot fetch the previous entry from the form submissions database. I have attached a feature request ticket to this thread, so we might see it implemented at some point in the future.

You might consider using an Autofill option at this time. It saves the form data to the user's browser, so the form is automatically populated with the previous data.

How to Enable Auto Fill Feature

We have opened a widget request about this.

So, the form is used by a single person?

No, the form is used by multiple users, but regardless of who is using it, we just want the entry from the previous submittal on the form.  It would be a great widget!  Show the previous value grayed out to the side and a blank box for them to enter the new value.

Thank you for your explanation, it might help our Widget Team. Unfortunately, we have no ETA for when it will be implemented, but we will let you know if we have any updates.

    Hello mjapple,

Unfortunately we have not received any update on this feature request.

Upon checking the ticket status, I found that one of our developer is looking into this request. We cannot provide an ETA on this as it completely depends upon the feasibility and priority of our back end team. We will get back to you here as soon as we have any update on this.

    Thank you!
