I am trying to download the print version pdfs from my inbox and the filename seems to be a random selection of form fields that I do not want. How can I fix this?

Hi meownow,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Customizing your PDF output name is easy on Jotform. Let me show you how:
- On your My Forms page, hover your mouse over the form and click on More.
- Choose Open PDF Editor.
- In PDF Editor, click on the Gear icon on the right-hand side of your screen.
- Under the PDF File Name, click on the Pencil icon to edit the name template of your PDF.
- To add Form Fields along with your desired name, you can click on +Form Fields and choose the needed fields to appear in your PDF file name.
That's it. By following these steps you can customize your PDF name.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

meownowReplied on March 31, 2023 at 11:50 AMOk, thank you for your response. This is what I have done and I wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing. I find that once I do this, and download from the pdf editor, it works fine. However when I go to the inbox (as I would like to download the entire inbox) and select to download the print version PDFs, it does not work. The filename has additional form fields that I did not select.

Hello meownow,
Thank you for getting back to us. I cloned and tested your form, and the same thing happened to me. After some investigation, I noticed that this only works in the PDF editor because the PDF editor can contain multiple PDF documents, each with its own name settings. Since you're using the printable version to download the PDF, the PDF files downloaded via inbox will generate the submission name as a file name.
Reach out again if there’s anything else we can do for you.
