when creating a form, how do i break out of a section collapse without doing a page break?

i want a section collapse in the middle of a page but the divider doesn't do it. only a new collapse or a page break will allow me to "end" a previous section collapse.

    Hello James,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm sorry, but I'm a bit confused by the question. Can you tell us more about what you're attempting to achieve? Alternatively, it would be helpful to us if you could take a screen recording and send it to us. You can use the loom recorder and post the link here so that we can understand your needs and provide a better solution.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

    look at the attached graphic.

    EXTERIOR is a "Section Collapse".

The next section, that starts with "NC Service, Property Management & Repair" I do NOT want to be part of the collapse.

I want this next section to be displayed on the form when the EXTERIOR section is collapsed.

I've tried adding a divider. this does not work. The only thing that works is to insert a page brake. but I DO NOT want this comment section on a separate page.

I hope this clears up my question

    Hello James,

Thank you for getting back at us. If you want the NC Service, Property Management & Repair to show up when the Exterior Section is collapsed and filled then you can create a conditional logic that will trigger the said requirements is met. Here is how to do it:

    • In the form builder on the orange navigational bar click Settings
    • Go to Conditions tab on the left side of the page
    • Click Add New Condition and Select Show/Hide Field

    • Set up the condition just like the one below. Please see screenshot.

    • Click Save to apply the changes

This is how it looks like after the conditional logic is applied. Please see screenshot.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Seriously,

That's the only way to exclude the remainder of a form from a collapsible section?

All i want is the collapsible section to end!!!!! and leave the remainder of the form as visible...

a conditional solution can not be your best solution!

    Regards,

    Hi James,

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. You were on the right track with adding another Section Collapse to end the section, but the settings for the latter element just weren't finished. When you open the Section Collapse properties, you'll see Section Visibility and Button Visibility settings. These are the essential settings in choosing when to return from the collapsed items to the standard form view of the questions.

For the element that starts the collapsed section, the Section Visibility should be set to Hidden and Button Visibility to Visible, as in the screenshot below.

These settings should be reversed for the Section Collapse that ends the collapsed part to create a visible section to end the hidden one.

The Section Visibility should be set to visible so that the questions below it won't be collapsed. The Button Visibility should be set to Hidden so users won't see a second collapse bar.

Here you can see what the end result will look like from the preview mode screenshot. Only the first Section Collapse is visible on the form, and the second is hidden but marks the beginning of visible questions, so the product list coming after it is not collapsed.

Give this a try, and contact us again if there's anything more we can help you with.
