Hidden box on form not working correctly

I read a post about how to insert a hidden box into my form and edit it in the submission view.  I want to add a drop-down box field on my form and hide it from public view so that I can go in and edit the submissions after the fact.  I was able to successfully do this and deleted it but when I went back in and added it again I cannot get it to work correctly.

Now when I add this feature, when I go and look at submission and click edit, the box pops up for a brief second and then disappears.  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

By the way, I have been playing around with it and noticed if I duplicate the field, both hidden and save, and then go back in the submission view and edit, the both will pop up and the original one disappears quickly and the duplicate will remain for me to edit.  This seems to be some kind of glitch.

To update, after i added the duplicate and saved, I deleted the 1st one out and went back in to my submissions and only one popped up and stayed.  It is a glitch but I found a work around.

    Hi,

I am glad to hear you have things sorted.  Whenever you run into phantom fields like this the best thing to do is remove the field then clear your forms cache:

    http://www.jotform.com/help/229-How-to-Clear-your-Form-Cache

This will ensure that the current version of your form is the same as the most recent one saved and usually clear out fields that are bugged like the one you mentioned above.

If you continue to have this problem, let us know and we will be happy to have another look.
