Need Clarification on FREE Pricing tier

Hi - I just discovered JotForm and other form building tools recently and have a test form partially built in JotForm.  One question on the FREE tier.  It says that allows for 100 submissions monthly, but I'm not clear on the 10 SSL and 10 payment items listed.  Does that mean that if we're doing an event registration that only 10 people could register and pay via PayPal per month without stepping up to the $10/month plan?  And can you give me an example of when the SSL submissions come in to play?

We're trying online registration for the first time for an event, and some say the participants are still most likely to register the old fashioned way ... with a paper form!  So, while I'm very interested in presenting an elegant end user experience online, JotForm's pricing tiers are the only ones out there that allow starting small and stepping up to higher tiers as needed.  Other form tools look very nice, and offer some good competition for JotForm, but they fall short in pricing options for projects with very limited budgets.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Christopher,

Thank you for your interest in using JotForm and you've chosen the right one to give your participants a pleasant experience with online registrations. As you see our Pricing page comparing free plan with other paid plans, free users are allowed to receive upto 100 normal submissions/10 payments/10 SSL submissions per month. Payment submissions are the one that are received from the JotForms integrated with one of our payment tools viz., PayPal, Stripe,, etc.

SSL submissions are the submissions when the JotForms are using https instead of http. SSL enables your JotForms to receive submissions in encrypted which is more secured. You may enable SSL when you want to receive the data from your users in more secured way or for payment forms. You can actually place an security badge on your JotForm to display to your users showing that the form is secured and to gain more confidence.

Free users are provided with a storage space so that they can store files upto 100 MB that are received through JotForms as attachments. Please be noted that the exceeding either of the limits would place overlimit tag on Free account and further submissions cannot be received. The submission counter shall reset on every first day of the month.

Hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions. We will be more than happy to help you with.

    Thank you!
