Different results in Explorer and in Firefox...

    Our forms are now nearly ready for production.

    There are about 100 conditions in the form, and the simplest result (I mean the shortest form presented to the visitor) is a form which simply tells the visitor he cannot use Jotform for this purpose (as there is an online program to do this on our site).

    During the last test, a user told there is a mistake, because more fields than expected are shown. I test it myself and I did not see the problem.

    Difference between him and I? He is using Internet Explorer 8 and I am using Firefox (6 I guess). And indeed there is a differenct... See screenshots...

    As I can only upload one image at the time, I will post the second in the next post...

     

    I guess I can solve the problem, as I think I know where it is coming from (one choice in a dropdown button was removed. and there is probably a test on this field), but I wanted to tell you the difference between the browsers... Probably interesting for troubleshooting

    I forgot to tell you that the result in Firefox is correct. The one in Explorer is bad for 2 reasons:

    - it shows 3 fields which are hidden by a condition : Naam, Telefoon nummer and Mee te sturen documenten

    - the error message shown in Englis... but it should be in Dutch as all messages are translated.

    To avoid confusion among support team members, I have deleted the other thread you opened and instead attached the image in your second post.

    Basically, the reason why those fields are being shown is due to the structure of your conditions. For example, if we analyze this condition:

     

    Upon loading, the form does not match any of these conditions, hence the field is being displayed both in IE and Firefox.

    I will do further testing on the other fields that are displaying incorrectly. Will let you know of the results.

    Thanks for having merged my 2 topics... As I did not see it immediately, I sent my remarks to ... another topic.

    I sid I was aware that some conditions have changed and that this could cause the problem. However, I do not agree with you when you say that hat field is shown in both browsers.  Firefox and Chrome do not show those fields. Unless this would be dued to a cache problem (I hope not...) there is really a difference between the browsers.

    I did intentionally NOT correct the conditions yesterday evening in order to let you see the problem. Nou if you tell me there is no problem... I guess this would need some investigations.

    I will correct the conditions as we need to take the forms in production, and you will not be able to test it anymore.

    I tried to manage the forms in Internet Explorer... But now I get the interface in Dutch, which I do not want...

    Browser language is in English. Any suggestion to manage the forms in English even with Explorer? The URL is exactly the same... http://www.jotform.com/myforms

    Hello,

    Let's take this issue one at a time.  It would be best if the problem is different, let's start a new thread instead next time.

    For now here are my findings in regarding to the issues that you have reported:

    The form seems to show errors because there is a bug with the multi-upload field in IE.  I also have included the issue where the error warning appears to be in english.  I have submitted a ticket for these two problems. 

    If you cannot wait for your form to get fixed, I would suggest to change your multi-upload fields to single file uploading fields instead.  Our development team will respond to this as soon as they have this issue resolved.

    For your language issues in your browser:

    As for your browser's language preference with JotForm, you can change the language with your browsing on the website by selecting the prefered language on the bottom left,  in my forms page.

    If there are other issues that I'm missing, please do let us know.

    We hava announced production date for October 24...

    If the bug with multiple uploads cannot be fixed, let's say for the 20th of October, I could change the multiple upload by a single one for the time being, as the business decided not to allow one of the functions where multiple files was a real must. But I expect they will soon realize this was an error. So I guess that the multiple uploads will be a must again.

    Please keep me informed, because unfortunately a lot of people continue to use Internet Explorer as a browser (I wander really why they do...., but they do).

    I understand.  I have increased the priority of this ticket so to have this issue fixed sooner.

    I am afraid my problem is not solved. No doubt a bug has been fixed around multi-uploads, but I still have the same problem.

    The problem is rather easy to reproduce if you go to http://www.jotform.com/?formID=11210216740

    Firefox, Chrome and Safari only show the needed fields. IE adds some of the available multi-upload buttons.

    We have one function we really want to re-route to our online filing program and we do not expect anything to be sent by the form. This is the following combinatino:

    - Benelux merk

    - Indiend depot (zie depot online)

     

    If the 3 buttons (Mee te sturen afbeelding, Nodige documentatie and Model afbeeldingen) accept multiple uploads, Firefox, Chrome and Safari do it right.

    IE show in addition the fields Telefoonnummer and Mee te sturen documenten.

    If the buttons do not accept multiple uploads, it seems to be correct in IE too.... I do not exclude the possibility of some error in my conditions (I will check this again), but it remains a fact that the behaviour differs between Firefox/Chrome/Safari and IE.

    I solved the problem of the display of the "telefoon" field, even if I still think there is a bug somewhere.

    This field was conditioned by 2 conditions and I just suppressed the second one, even if the result of the second one should be correct.

    It was a multiple conditions wher any of the conditions had to be matched. But I guess the condition was correctly entered. Fortunately, the second condition refered to a function the business decided not to apply (If I was 100% sure they will not come back on it later, I could of course delete all fields with respect to this function. May be this could be the solution of this problem too...

    Thanks for the tip to clear the cache.

    I guess that Shift+F5 is not enough to do this. I deleted the history (temporary internet files, cookies, history and form data).

    The result is slightly different, but ti does not solve the problem.

    But now I see it is something else.

    ANyway, you could try it yourself too. And see it is not yet correct.

    BBIE, we are sorry for this problem but we solved it yesterday. I tested your form yesterday and I couldn't see any error and I added sceen for proving.
