Geolocation widget output - I only want lat/long

Hi, 

I am using your geolocation widget on one of my forms, and it used to give me the person's response in coordinates only (for example, the output for the field would be "39.521064, -119.837473").  This was very exactly what I needed, because I could link my spreadsheet of form responses to a Google map, and the point would appear on the map.   

Now, something has changed with the widget and the output from the form gives me a more complex answer that includes an approximate address and the words "Latitude" and Longitude" (for example "Address: 1405 South Rock Boulevard, Sparks, NV 89431, USA Latitude: 39.52109 Longitude: -119.76582").  

This is a problem, because I can't map the coordinates from my spreadsheet without manually deleting all of the extra words and information.  

I don't want to have to manually delete this info from every single response that I get. Is there a way to change the settings so that I only receive the lat/long coords, or can you change the widget back to the way it used to be?

Hi Kelsey,

The best I can do would be to raise this to our developers and have them see if it is possible to change the widget by adding options what to be shown in the results.

I can however not give you any specific details when this would be done, nor if that would be the case, but our developers will let you know about it as soon as there are any news through this thread.

Hi, I just want to tell you that we have added a new option from the settings wizard where you can select the output format of the widget.

We have added 3 options to choose from.

- Address only - only gives you the map address
- Latitude and Longitude - show Latitude and Longitude only
- Address ~ Latitude and Longitude - shows a map together with Latitude and Longitude ( default )

Please make a test and let us know if the added option will work just fine.

Now, one more question -- if I already have the geolocation widget loaded onto my form, do I have to delete my current geolocation widget and re-load the updated version to get to that "output format" option?

It tells me that if I delete my current geolocation widget, I will lose all associated data, and I'm afraid to lose the data I've already collected!

Yes Kelsey, that is correct, you should remove that old one and data will be shown as missing, but as soon as you add the new Geolocation widget, it will return all the old submissions right back to you.
