How do I get the JotForm WordPress plugin to work ?

Asked by WinningEdgeFootball on February 08, 2015 at 12:12 AM

These two pages have forms embedded in them using the JotForm WordPress plugin, but neither page will actually display the forms:

    http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-7on7-player-registration

    http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-coachteam-registration

The plugin has numerous poor reviews but the most recent review was positive, and the update history indicates that the plugin was updated three weeks ago, so I'm assuming that JotForm still supports this plugin.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi WinningEdgeFootball,

I do apologize for the issue that you are experiencing with your form being displayed on your website.

After reviewing your websites, I am seeing that your form is showing fully at one location. The other link only shows the top part of the form.

Please remove the plug-in on the page that you are experiencing the issue with, then add it once again and select your form.

I hope this helps, please inform us if you need further assistance.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I deleted the plugin and reinstalled, but the same problem is occurring. The form shows up perfectly on http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-coachteam-registration but when you load http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-7on7-player-registration, the first couple fields of the form will load for a second, and then the form disappears.

I think the Embed Form plugin creates a conflict in your current theme or to some other plugins in your website. Please try using our oEmbed Plugin instead: https://wordpress.org/plugins/jotform-oembed/. If it's still not working then I would suggest embedding the form instead using our iFrame method: http://www.jotform.com/help/148-Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code.

    Thanks

Thank you for the suggestions. Even with the oEmbed Plugin installed, and the Embed Form Plugin deleted, this is how the form appears:

And using the iFrame code, this is how the page appears: http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-7on7-player-registration

    Hi WinningEdgeFootball,

After reviewing your webpage source code, I am seeing that your iFrame code is being ignored due to the fact that it is within a paragraph tag that has not been closed. Please remove the paragraph tag before the iFrame code and the page break tag before the script code

I hope this helps, please inform us if you need further assistance.

You're totally right - thank you so much for your patience and assistance. The reason why I hadn't seen that open paragraph tag is because it doesn't appear when I'm editing the code on the page:

I will get it corrected, and I'll remember in the future that the code I'm "editing" may not actually be the full code on the page.

Even after removing or closing the paragraph tag, the form still does not appear on the page. And I looked at the code of the page where the form is working (http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-coachteam-registration) and it has that same unclosed <p> tag, so I don't know if it's the paragraph tag that's causing the form not to appear

    Hello,

I did check your web page and it seems there is not form embedded there. I also check the source code of the webpage and did not find any form embed code. Have you removed the embed code already?

I check the following web page:  http://winningedge7on7.com/registration/2015-7on7-player-registration

I would suggest you to embed your form again and we will try to solve the problem.

    Thank you!

Oh, I should have worded that differently. The embed code is on the page, but the form still does not appear

Actually, I found what was causing the problem. The first question of the form has custom conditions - what to show/not show based on the user response. Because I had not programmed a default selected answer on that question, the form would not show any fields. This must have been why the form would appear for a split second as it was loading, and then disappear once it recognized that there was no response in the first question. I programmed a default selected answer for the first question, and now the form functions properly.

Thanks for your help and patience
