Having trouble setting up Save to continue later option on my jotform

    Hi,

    I have a form here at http://form.jotform.us/form/50398427650157 that followed the tutorial for save & continue forms, but I can't seem to replicate the part where the full name & email get carried over automatically to the next form (which this form redirects to automatically). Please help.

    Thanks!

    Hello jaredpolak,

    You can take advantage of our "URL Parameter" feature to populate the fields of second form with the field value of first form.

    I checked the fields names of your form and you should use the following URL in your first form's "Custom URL" of thank you option:

    http://www.jotform.us/form/50387175126153?email76={email5}&fullName75[first]={fullName4:first}&fullName75[last]={fullName4:last}

    I have already fixed this in your form and the Full name & email address is being carried over automatically to second form. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this helps.

    Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    Thanks, but now this link is not working for saving the form fields. (I have this link sent to filler's email after they fill out form 1). Can you see what I did wrong?

    OK, based on what you said Jared, you are actually having issues with the option to save the forms to continue later, which uses two jotforms.

    Now the key in the setup is the session part of the URL as that tells us the info that we need for the other form.

    ?session={email}

    Now the {email} field might be named differently on your field, so that is important to check. To do that I would suggest the following guide: How to find Field IDs & Names

    This segment is added to the end of the link like shown here: How to Save Forms to Continue Later

    Now, I know what you are asking and my colleague has given the answer to this, we just need to combine it with mine ;)

    - What does that mean? - Well it means that we can add 2 more parameters to the link and fill out the fields as well :)

    example:

    &name={name}&email={email}

    Basically what we end up with is:

    http://www.jotform.us/form/50387175126153?sesion={email5}&email76={email5}&fullName75[first]={fullName4:first}&fullName75[last]={fullName4:last}

    If you add this code to your email and thank you page, not only will it enable continue for later option, but it will also allow you to pass the name and email as well.

    Hello, thanks for the info! However I'm still not able to get it to work. I copied that link to both the email and thank you page, but the form results are still not saving from page to page. However, the name/email carryover is working fine. What am I doing wrong?

    OK. Just to confirm, you are sent the email with the Session parameter and you are still not able to get it to work once you go to a new jotform - the data is not saved as you pass to new pages?

    If that is correct could you please try by using support@jotform.com as the session email (by completing the form using that email) and then seeing if it saves the data on the next jotform - but do not submit it.

    If you are still seeing data not saving do let us know and we would be able to check the jotform using the same session email (which is why I mentioned not to submit the second jotform with the email).

    Yeah, so I'd start on this form: http://form.jotform.us/form/50398427650157

    And after I click continue, I'm at my 2nd form successfully with my full name/email already filled in. I'll also get an email with a link to continue, but when I click that link the only data that's saved is full name/email and not the rest.

    I just tried using support@jotform.com as the session email, and the data seems to be saving when I click the "Save & Next" button (I click "Back" to check), however my problem is that the link in the email doesn't work (goes to the 2nd form successfully but doesn't save anything other than full name/email) and I can't test that here since I can't log into support@jotform.com.
