I am having problems opening the upload documents that are submitted. can you check to see if some format or button got switched. thank you

We can't read most of the recent  uploads on our site.  I would appreciate any help you can give me.  Thanks so very much.

Also i use to get a email with a copy of the form (not a PDF) once they submitted - that is not happening now too. I wonder if the two things are connected.  I would like to receive the emails again too.

    Thank you!!

I see that the submission is made on this jotform Kay:

I took a look at the submission that you have mentioned, but I am able to properly download the file "Policy.docx".

Do you have Word editor that can open docx by some chance format (new doc format)?

In regards to the issue with the email I have moved it to a new thread here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/514955 where we will be replying back shortly.

    Hi,

That is the problem, i can't view any of the documents that are uploaded either - from any of our forms that have been submitted.  something is wonky - once they are uploaded.   I thought it would let up upload unless it was in a PDF (it might have had a list of approved formats). Now i can't read any uploads, on any of our forms.

I would appreciate any help or insight you can give me.

    thanks,

    Kay

OK Kay, it seems that the issue is that you are not able to open the docx files.

There are few things to do in regards to this:

    1. set allowed formats on upload fields to not accept this format
    2. open the files by installing the software that can read it.

To see how to set the format that can be uploaded to your jotform please take a look at this guide: Upload Field Allowed File Types

The docx file format is developed by Microsoft and is used in new versions of their Microsoft Office suite. I would however recommend a free alternative that I use and so far has proven (to me at least) much better - LibreOffice Suite.

It will also allow you to open the docx file and convert it to PDF if that is better for you.
