Credit Cards # with Commas, using Safari 5.1.10

Asked by joelurgio on February 12, 2015 at 01:33 PM

Is there a way to keep the payment tool (using Authorize.net) from inserting the commas when entering from a Mac with Safari 5.x.x and/or iOS 5?  I've seen where this issue came up and was a addressed as simply a problem with Safari and iOS.  While I understand this may have been corrected in later versions, what about for those who still have the older version?  From what I can tell, the problem seems to be when a credit card field uses the html type "number" Safari 5 and iOS 5 want to insert the commas.  But when the field uses type "text" to "tel" problem gets resolved.  Is there a way to fix this in jotform, to make the credit card field read properly?

    Thanks,
    Eddie

    Hi Eddie,

I was able to see the difference of the problem you reported.

On the Safari 5.1 version, the CC number indeed insert comma separator on the data.

But it does not happen when using a higher version of Safari browser i.e Safari 6.1

    No issue on higher version

I will submit a bug ticket report to our higher team support so that they can take a look and possibly apply a fixed as soon as they can.

For the mean time, as you had mentioned already, the only way for now to workaround the glitch is to use a higher version of the Safari browser or used different browser also like Firefox or Chrome.

We will let you know on this thread when we have update on the status of the ticket.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.
