Date Difference Widget: Does Not Show or Calculate DatesAsked by ritugill628 on February 16, 2015 at 06:56 PM
I was trying to see how to set up a calculation using the date fields. For example if I added fields for start date and end date, I would want it to calculate the number of months between the 2 fields. I tried the calculation widget, but it gives me a number which I can't seem to figure out what it might be calculating exactly. Screenshot attached.
I believe it won't accurately calculate the time difference using the calculation widget. But, I see that we have a widget for that: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/dates_difference. Which is actually designed to calculate the difference of dates, unfortunately, upon checking it, it seems that there's a problem with it.
What I would do now is escalate this to our developers so that they can update or fix the Date Difference widget. We will hear from them when there's an update.
To add to my colleagues response. After reviewing your form, I am seeing that your calculation to get the amount of days have been set incorrectly
Please use the following calculations to get the difference in days:
You can view the sample form with the correct here: http://jotform.com/form/50468521415957
I hope this helps, please inform us if you need further assistance.
well... I'm having some hard time to calculate the difference in hours and/or minutes between two dates... the widget doesn't show anything even if only set two different dates...
Thank you for informing us. I've already escalated this to our Widget team, upon checking the status of the ticket, it has already been assigned to one of our developers and it is marked as "Important", unfortunately, there's no resolution for it yet. We will hear from them when a fix has been made, but rest assure that they are already working on it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We have fixed the date difference widget to calculate days accurately Demo - http://form.jotformpro.com/form/52070055789964?
It will work with the Form Calculation widget if you need to use the difference between those two dates in a calculation on your form.
I see in your responses you desire additional features for the widget - I'd like to hear what you would like to accomplish, and what you would like to see the widget do as we improve and add features to it.
Kindly respond - Thanks!
