Change single file upload button text

could a change be made so that the upload button can be renamed for single file uploads too?

Hi,

No that's not possible. They just can't be renamed, simply because they are not supported with browsers. Single file upload is browser inherited, it changes its layout, style and text depending on the browser you used. In short, each browser has different rendition of this field.
