    Hello,

I am looking to generate very personal/confidential documents to and from clients. I would like to know how secure is the website.

    Hi Tamika,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. We take security very seriously here at Jotform and have multiple different features that can help protect you and your client's data. The first feature we use is SSL. We serve all of our forms over 256 bit SSL connection to encrypt traffic between our servers and people filling out our forms. We also have privacy settings that you can use to restrict who can see the form, by only allowing approved email addresses to view the forms. Here's how to set that up:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Publish on the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    2. Click on the Gear icon across from Link to Share. If you want to prevent anyone except invited email addresses, select Private Form. If you want to allow only users with a specific email domain, select Company Access.Security of Website Image 1 Screenshot 50

You can also fully encrypt your submission data so that even if your account is accessed by someone who isn't authorized, they won't be able to see the submission information. Here's how to do that:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings on the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    2. Click on the brown Show More Options button.Security of Website Image 2 Screenshot 61
    3. Click on the dropdown for Encrypt Form Data and set it to Yes, then verify your password. If you are using Single Sign On through Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Facebook, you will need to perform a Password Reset to create a password.Security of Website Image 3 Screenshot 72
    4. Choose Create encryption keys for me if you don't have an existing key you want to use, or I will provide a public key if you do have an existing key you want to use. On future forms, you will also see I will use my existing keys, which will use the key you uploaded previously.Security of Website Image 4 Screenshot 83
    5. If you had the system create a key for you, it will give you the ability to download it. If this file is lost, you won't be able to restore any data that is encrypted, so make sure you keep it in a safe place.

Now your form is encrypted and your submissions will show up as random letters and numbers for people who don't have the private key. If you want more technical details on our platform, we have some great information here.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
