How can I prevent tab to be switched over without filling out required fields?

Asked by guineapigme on February 22, 2015 at 01:16 PM

How do I prevent the user from activating tabs on my tab forms widgets prior to answering a question on the first form page.

I have the field marked as required, but the user can press any tab without answering the question.

I would like the user to effectively declare his status before accessing the rest of the form (or even not see the tabs) until they have answered that question.

    Is this possible?

Ok, I think I solved this one myself with the valid field requirement.

I am glad that you were able to resolve this through the required field option in conditions.

It could also be done by show / hide field conditions, showing the tab widget only if the field is filled out, but depending on how this is set and on the jotform itself it could lead to have them hidden on all or multiple pages as well, so it might require a bit of trial and error.
