    Using Unique IDs and managing order forms

    Asked by dotcomUNDERGROUND on October 21, 2011 at 09:12 PM

    Hi,

    Are the following possible?

    1. Show the submitter a unique referance id for their submission on the thank you message. I understand i can pass the unique id firnd to a hosted page. But can we do that on a thank you page hosted by you? (like support tickets)

    2. Can we provide "add more fields" type action to the submitter? Like the submitter can click on a link to add more product fiends to the form.

    3. Can we calculate the price based on chosen fields? (product and quantity)

    4. I understand i can use conditional operator to hide/show other fields. But i can set required fields based on conditional operator?

    Hi,

    I'll answer these questions in a series.

    For Question 1,

    Please take a look under 'Power Tools' (sidebar), Unique ID.

    That invisible field will allow you to control the prefix and 0 paddings.

    For the other questions, may I know which payment gateway you intend to use?

    Hi,

    Would it be possible to "print" the unique number in the "Thank You" message so the submitter can use that as referance number while communicating with us over other channels?

    We will not be using any automated payment gateway. We accept payments by bank deposits. We just want the Order Form to autometically calculate the total price based on the item and quantity they wish to purchase or paid for.

    For my "Question #3" I have already been able able to use the "Price Calculation" part of it.

    But the "price" is being placed too close to the "product title". Any way to add more space between the price and product title?

    Also can you please add "Bangladeshi Taka" to available currencies?

    Hi,

    Would it be possible to "print" the unique number in the "Thank You" message so the submitter can use that as referance number while communicating with us over other channels?

    Yes! please follow the steps below to learn how:

    1.  Click Setup & Embed > Thank you > Select Thank you Message

    2. On your Custom Thank you Message, simply add an {ID} tag. Please check sample screen below:

    But the "price" is being placed too close to the "product title". Any way to add more space between the price and product title?

    Please inject this custom css codes to add extra space between the product title and its price.

    .form-product-details {

    margin-left: 15px;

    }

    Here's a guide on how to inject custom css codes on your form, click HERE.

    Also can you please add "Bangladeshi Taka" to available currencies?

    I have now forwarded your request to our development team so they could decide whether it is possible to add or not. Please stay in touch for updates!

    I hope you find this information's helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions. Thank you so much for using JotForm and have a great holiday seasons!

    @dotcomUNDERGROUND,

    Let me please inform you about your currency request. Unfortunately, Bangladeshi Taka isn't available in Paypal and other payment gateways that's why our Developers couldn't add this currency under Payment Wizard. Upon further research, I have found out that Bangladesh isn't available in Paypal's Country List

    I hope you still find this information helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for using JotForm and have a blessed new year!

    Hi,

    Thanks again for letting me know about the technical limitation.

    I understand the "currency" setup must be related to all available gateways. But as the "Purchase Order" tool does not actually associate with any payment gateway, may be you can consider providing the possibility to use custom currency?

    Another feature i would like to recommend for the order tool is to give the option to:

    1. Set price based on option.
    For example, for a specific gift card of $10, $15, $25 value... we can give option to select the value option and the price will get calculated based on that (ex BDT 100 for $10, BDT 150 for $15)

    2. And the other option is to allow the buyer to enter the value... like $1.2 and the price will be calculated by multiplying a value with the entered amount. (ex BDT 120 for $1.2)

    And for my other question, which has not been addressed yet,
    Can we provide "add more fields" type action to the submitter? Like the submitter can click on a link to add more product fiends to the form.

    The example scenerio is an order form where they will be asked to fill up a set of option (item name text box, quantity, price(manually entered by buyer)). And they will get a "add another item" link which will bring up another set of option for them to fill up.

    Another feature i would like to suggest is the option to set visibility of the next button on a specific page break. I understand it can be done with css injection, but on a large form, looking in the source or counting for all elements is very troublesome. And requires manual modification of all css ids if there is any modification in the form.
