Can I set a default value for a dropdown field?

Asked by guineapigme on February 23, 2015 at 06:31 PM

I am using one of the fields (drop down) as a mode button.   Upon a submission, I would like this button to return to one of the options (mainly the blank one).

I have a blank field, Edit option, and a View option.   I intend to force the user to choose one of these on my first page to gain appropriate access to the remainder of the pages.

It appears now that if someone chooses the edit option (and "saves") this field is retained as in any submission.

But since my use of this field is different, I would like it to reset to the unselected option in order to force the next user/viewer of the field to make this first determining choice.

Please try to set a default selected value for the dropdown as in the picture below:

This should set the blank selection as the default one when the form is loaded again.

Give it a try and let us know if it works for you.
