Calculation doesn't work on Inventory Widgets with lots of them in the formAsked by livingearthschool on February 25, 2015 at 02:25 AM
I am using inventory widgets with form calculations and there are two issues going on with the form on which I put a lot of inventory widgets:
One is that the calculation is not working at all. I got it to work fine on another similar form that had only 6 inventory widgets on it, but on this one we have many inventory widgets and it is not working at all.
The other issue is that this morning all the calculations were entered (for all the inventory widget items) and when I went back to it most of them had disappeared. It only remembered the first quarter or so. Before I re-enter them all again I want to be sure they will stick!
The form url is: http://form.jotform.us/form/43274725651154I can't show you the web page it is embedded on, since the site is in maintenance mode (until we figure out how to make the forms work!) but that url shows the form.
Is there a max number of inventory widgets that a form can handle?
I just saw another post and that you told them to use a plugin for wordpress sites. Didn't realize that. The plugin suggested though hasn't been updated in a year so I'm afraid to use it.
If necessary I will put the forms on html pages and link to them from my wordpress site (but I'd rather have them in wordpress).
Still have the issue of the calculations disappearing though!
I just tested putting the form on an html page and it worked in google chrome but won't work in Safari or Firefox. (I'm on mac). The url of the html page is http://livingearthva.com/regyouthform.html
The calculations are only there for the first 11 inventory widgets (they disappeared from the rest) but I may try putting them back in before you look at this. Just in case you may only want to test the first 11 of them.
We'll check this out and then get back to you with my findings.
I was able to reproduce the problem. Kindly confirm if this is what you are experiencing.
The calculation for the inventory widgets does not work properly on Firefox (as well as on Chrome intermittently) when the form is embedded. The stand alone form works just fine.
Here's my test form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50553964662967?
Form embedded in a plain html: https://shots.jotform.com/elton/test_522211.html
I have now raised this to our higher ups for further investigation. We'll let you know once this is resolved.
Thanks and apologies for the inconveniences caused.
Yes that is what I am talking about. Thanks for escalating it.
I made some with less inventory widgets, such as this one http://livingearthva.com/regadultform.html and am still finding the same issue. It works sometimes but not always, even on the same browsers.
If I was to use products instead, is there anyway to have a stock limit?
I need to get this done and start registration!
Unfortunately, there is not currently a way to limit stock when using products in a payment field. Generally the workaround you are using is what we recommend for limiting quantities available. We should hopefully have a resolution for the widgets as soon as possible.
