cant click on the properties button

I am trying to edit a field. I have used cSS to move things around a bit so it makes it hard when you go back to the edit screen as the modules overlap. When you select a module you see the properties gear but it is half covered and when you go to click the module above covers it. Anyway to work on this? I have tried to go into the css and move the module with position: top: -15px to get it out of the way but it is not working.

You can try right-clicking on the field and you will get the properties menu:
