    Hi tony,

Unfortunately, there is only a few customization that we can do for PDF reports. You can check this guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/305-How-to-show-headers-or-text-for-contracts-terms-agreements-in-the-PDF-format-of-a-submission. What it can do is to display the headers and text of the form.

Changing the background, color, sizes and others are not possible to be edited as of now. What I can do is to escalate this to our developers as a feature request. Please do take note that I'm unable to provide a specific date for when this will be implemented or be considered.

    Thank you.

    Charlie,

this is getting silly now? whats the latest on this report as its starting to make me look like i chose a poor solution for the company "oakham"

we have to set up a second form that will go live in another week for the client however they want me to look for another solution as i am away making a documentary and wont be around to edit the pdf's for them and they dont want to do the long winded editing of the pdf themselves (i dont blame them as its a royal pain in the ....)

can you give me a proper date as to when the pdf problems will be rectified instead of all these open ended replies?

i can honestly say i have never been palmed of for so long by any other company in my 20 years in business!

whats the point if you cant get the data to display correctly in what is an worldwide industry standard document .pdf?

i have no doubt i will get the same old i have sent the request to our techinical team as a priority lol its not funny now thats the point!!!

we are now paying for a seond rate service - i am having to do all the fixings of the shody .pdf that is produced!!

having items crossing over into other pages is piss poor! and to assume that its ok that nothing has been done in 2-3 years is diabolical!!

tbh im at the end of my tether with jotform!!! feed me story after story with nothing ever done!

whats seems a fairly intuitive product at first glance actually is not a working solution!

please reply with a proper date this time instead of the usual codswallop lol

    regards,

    tony

    Hi Tony,

I'm sorry for your frustration, and I would really want to give you an update on this. Unfortunately, right now that feature is still a request and has already been forwarded to our developers. It is, however, marked as "Urgent". The progress of this feature will depend on the list of priority tasks that our developers have.

I have another workaround in mind, but I'm not sure if this is something that would work for you.

If you are looking on how to print or save your submissions as a PDF just like how the form looks like in the live preview but with the fields prepopulated, then you can do that by following the steps below.

    1. Add an edit link to your email notification, the one that you will receive.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 1 Screenshot 60

    2. When you make a test submission, you will receive it like this, click it and it will open the submission.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 2 Screenshot 71

    3. press CTRL+P to print the submission with the form's format and design intact.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 3 Screenshot 82

For existing submissions that don't have the edit link, you can just modify the edit link that you have. You can follow the steps below.

    1. Copy the edit link from a sample test submission. Here's mine.

    http://submit.jotformpro.com/form.php?formID=51135838748969&sid=305710084884608576&mode=edit

    2. Change the sid (which is the submission ID) to the ID of a specific submission that you would like to print.

    3. To get the submission ID, navigate to your submissions page.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 4 Screenshot 93

    4. Copy the submission ID and just replace the sid value in the edit link submission, view it on another tab and you can now print it.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 5 Screenshot 104

That would give you a PDF submission without the grey background color on it, and the layout will be the same with the form itself. We can also add custom CSS code to declare where to do the page breaks in the print setup. However, there are still limitations on this.

I'll notify the developer about the request and will try to get any update or any progress on it. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you are having right now.

    Thank you for your understanding.

So charlie once again you have answered non of my questions!!

the company who uses the service has little/no IT department and like i said i will be travelling around making a doucmentary for the summer so will not be able to do all the hacks you say that may or may not work for them!

we simply want the submission content to look half sharp as a .pdf why do you insist on not sorting this issue???? Its been urgent for ages/years lol waste of time!

all i want is the service you advertise! and not the half service i have been getting for such a long time! we are paying  monthly for the solution??????? This is crazy!!!

anyone out there make sure you choose the right application if you would like your submissions to show neatly in a .pdf without hours of labour intensive smartening up in adobe acrobat as the joffrom ones a naff! The content/images are overlapping the pages (really poor to view) the whole thing defeats the object of streamlining a report  service on the web!

you lost the business all can say! given you more than enough time to sort - wasted hours upon hours of my time on a second rate solution..gutted!

I'm not sure what makes your reply a private one, but this mostly happens if you have replied through email.

Anyway, back to your needs. Our developers have already added this one. It's now in beta and available for Support/Admins only. I'm sure the development is ongoing. We will let you know in this thread once we make it available to everyone.

Allow PDF reports/submissions to be customizable or styled Image 1 Screenshot 20

The suggestion given by my colleague Charlie is one of the best way while this feature is not yet released.

    Thanks

    ty welvin for your response,

im surprised charlie never mentioned this in his post to me?

do you think this is an acceptable response? the add new report item "pdf report beta" means nothing to me unless i can acces it for my clients needs!

you have given me no launch dates as per usual! why do i feel like i am being fobbed of again!

charlie never offered me a solution just a long winded work around that should be automated!

when does the pdf beta report go live then?

    regards

    tony

Unfortunately, we can't provide an ETA of when this feature will be released.

As mentioned by Welvin the PDF report is currently in a BETA phase which means that our developers are still testing it to make sure it works correctly and hopefully it will be released soon.

We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter.
