Is there a way to "lock" certain answers so they could never be modified by the user in the edit mode?

In the form builder, you have the option to set the field as read-only:

But I guess you wanted to make it as read-only, only when the form is access using the edit link. In the direct URL, you still wanted to make it editable. Please confirm.

No.  I need the users answer to be UN-editable by the team receiving the information.   I want to lock it completely.

I'm sorry, but let me just clarify. When you say "Edit Mode", meaning, edit the form through the form submissions page or through "Edit Link"?

As for the edit link, I'm talking about this feature: http://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date.

Since you've mentioned a receiving team, I assumed you mean through the edit link. If that is correct, unfortunately, that is not possible. A workaround would be to use two forms. One for the form user to fill out, one for the receiving team to fill out. You can pass the value from the first form to the second form.

I look forward to your reply.
