    Fillable PDF: This specific form generates corrupted PDF

    I was very excited to see the new functionality of creating fillable PDF forms. That was one feature I missed coming over from FormsCentral.

    I just tested the PDF form creator, and while it created a PDF form, Acrobat Reader XI can't open them. I get this error:

    "Adobe Reader could not open 'Community_Connections_2014_Letter_of_Intent.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded."

     

    I tried it from the fillable PDF Form Creator page, and from the My Forms page. Neither worked.

    Did I miss a step?

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting it here. Our developers are continuously enhancing the PDF creator until today so it possible that something might have been broken during the time you have downloaded the PDF. May I suggest to try it again this time as I can confirmed that the PDFs are now working. Otherwise if you continue to encounter the same problem, let us know so we can forward it to our developers.

    I just tried it again by creating a new PDF of my form. I received the same error:

    I'm using Acrobat Reader XI. I've tried from different browsers, but nothing works.

    The Fillable creator works well Adobe Reader, so far version 9 and Foxit software have been tested successfully. Basically it is possible to submit using full featured PDF reader - one that allows PDF scripting.

    Our developers are working hard in debugging our PDF creator. Let us make some tests and we will get back to you if this must be escalated or if we have further suggestions for you.

    I was able to reproduce the problem when testing out your form. I see similar error you mentioned when I opened your form PDF.

    It seems form specific. I believe it is related with the conversion file size limit but I am not sure until our developer confirms. I have now raised this to our developers for a resolution.

    I'm glad it wasn't just me :)

     

    Let me know if there is something I need to do to adjust the file size with the graphics or dividers we're using.

    I suspect it has to do with "throttling" on the server CPU process or available memory (RAM, etc) which creates the PDF form, instead of size. I suspect some 'conversions' are more complex, requiring too much RAM or CPU time.

    Is that server on my end (i.e., my company's internal server)? Or elsewhere?

    JotForm's server. I did some testing and can output various file sizes which work, AFTER I deleted several FIELDS.. but that was kinda random.. hence, the "resource" issue, more than just size.

     

    Sadly, for now, I will just email the link to the form which seems to work otherwise, since the PDF isn't happily being exported..

    I just tried to download my first pdf form http://screencast.com/t/QLsfwgNJvn  - got the same error - it is an extensive form I guess in that it has many fields, but nothing compiicated.  Is there any fix?
