PayPal question with single product: Even if the paypal question is hidden conditionally, it redirects to PayPal checkout page.Asked by istanbultri on March 19, 2015 at 06:13 AM
Hello, I created a registration form for an event. there are two payment option; 1- eft 2- Paypal.
When a person chooses the option to pay with paypal nothing goes wrong. They get redirected to paypal page as it should be. But if you click to pay with eft they still get directed to paypal page "if only" there is only one product to pay. If I add second product to pay everything goes right.
It's a very annoying problem since I spent 3 hours just to figure out this (bug maybe?)
What is your suggestion about it?
payment form registration form problem product payment option
I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.
I did clone your form and I am able to replicate the issue you are having but I was able to figure out the cause of this issue.
Please be noted that when you have two products in your PayPal question and then you select "eft" as payment method, the paypal question is hidden and that is the reason why you are not redirect to PayPal checkout page which is correct behavior. But when you have only one product in your PayPal question, the field automatically becomes hidden (by default single product is not displayed). Taht is the reason even if the "eft" is selected, you are still redirected to PayPal checkout page because our back end system treats it not to be hidden conditionally.
I am not sure if this is a bug but I will still go ahead and report it to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update form them.
For now, when you have only one product in your PayPal question and still want to hide it conditionally, I will suggest you to manually make the PayPal question visible. Please check the screenshot below on how to do this:
Hope this helps.
Do get back to us if you have any questions.
This issue has now been fixed. Thank you for reporting it and apologies for any inconvenience it caused you.
