The labels of matrix field are truncated when exported to excel reportAsked by sturdysurvey on March 19, 2015 at 03:17 PM
When exporting submissions to Excel or CSV, the text of the Row labels within a Matrix response get truncated, with the trailing text replaced by an ellipsis (...).
Is there any way to get the full text of each Row label to be included in the output?
This is a re-post of a comment on How to View Form Submissions
I see what you mean by the truncating the labels. I think this should have been done by purpose to limit characters in the heading like display width limitation, reducing load during export, etc. It may be possible to increase the character count.
However, let me check with our next level support team to see if this can be increased further. I cannot promise you that it'll be implemented or any time frame.
If there is any update in this regard, you'll posted through this thread.
I can see merits to limiting the length within the headings during export, but this behavior doesn't seem to be consistent with how other questions are exported.
The ideal resolution may be to allow the form creator to choose whether (all?) questions should be truncated or not. Since that could require a bit more programming, it would probably at least be helpful if all questions were treated consistently.
(This was brought to my attention by a user who was concerned about not being able to see the whole question when analyzing the results.)
Thank you for checking into this!
Thanks. This has been submitted as a feature request by my colleague. Once this is implemented, we'll update you here right way.
Thank you for using Jotform!
