    Diacritical symbols are not displayed correctly in CSV files.

    Hi-

    When I export entries from my form. Some of the punctuation gets corrupted. But this is not happening consistently for all punctuation. In the cases where below symbols display in Excel, punctuation is displayed correctly in Jotform.

    Here's what I'm seeing:

    - Double quotation mark preceding quote - “
    - Double quotation mark following quote - â€
    - Single quotation mark preceding quote -  ‘
    - Single quotation following quote - ’
    - Apostrophe - ‘
    - Symbol for bullet point - •

    This is a large form with more than 100 entries (and over 300 responses expected). Looking for a solution that avoids me manually updating this in Excel. Is there a solution that can be implemented in JotForm to fix? Advice appreciated asap. Thanks.

    Could you please tell us if this happens every time or only sometimes?

    For example, you download Excel today and it has these issues and tomorrow they are gone or if they are there all the time, but only for some entries - not for all?

    This would give us a bit more detail about the issue.

    Also, could you please tell us if the same happens if you download the Excel file from withing the Submissions Panel: How to Partially Download Form Submissions as Excel/CSV/PDF? and from the reports: How to create an Excel Report?

    Also if the same happens when you download CSV (both from Submissions Panel and CSV from reports)?

    It seems to be happening for the same answers within different csv exports. But it's difficult to tell with so much data in the export.  

    It's not happening uniformly across all of a particular user's answers. Or uniformly across all answers submitted in a particular field.

    Also - this is happening when I download a csv from reports and the submissions panel.

    Something else I just saw - in a few cases L'Oréal is coming through as L'Oréal.

    Again, this is not happening consistently every time the word appears or every time a particular user has added the word - just for two particular answers.

    Thank you for sharing additional information. I did test this issue in one of my own form and it seems the "Quotation / double quotation" seems to display correctly in the excel and csv file. The issue seems to be related to "é" diacritical marks character and only with the csv files but works as expected in excel file. Please check the screenshot below:
