    Questions about your service

Asked by Paul  on March 24, 2015 at 06:36 AM

    Hi,

I am a start up business that wants to make an emailable booking form for a yacht charter holiday.

Jotform looks like it could be a solution, however there are a few things I am unclear on:

I am happy that I can create a form(s) that I require with your easy to use and great interface, can I send the complete form(s) to customers through email or will it just be a link? I know it will be submitted through jotform servers.

How will I see the information? What format? Can I file the forms on my business computer? Can I alter/correct information on submitted forms?

I have 4 different packages I offer with High, Mid and Low season rates, will I need to create a seperate form for each package and rate? or will I be able to build a single form to do everything through choice fields etc.?

Can I add a discount option?

Can I add a deposit option related to a date, ie full payment is required within a time frame of the holiday, a deposit is acceptable in excess of the time fram?

In summary I want to email a customer a booking form, with potential payment through paypal, I want to recieve the form filled in, adjust it if neccessary, file it and pin it to a calander (outlook, google calander etc.). I will not embed the form into the business website as I wish to manually manage and control bookings for now.

A lot of questions I know, but trawling the internet for the correct solution seems to be a minefield and I want to start where I intend to continue and need to know if jotform is right for my business.

    Many thanks for your time

can I send the complete form(s) to customers through email or will it just be a link?

Yes, you can create a notifier (email that is sent to you) and/or an autoresponder (email that is sent to your submitter) that includes all the submitter information in your forms.

How will I see the information? What format? Can I file the forms on my business computer? Can I alter/correct information on submitted forms?

You can download your submisions in Excel, CSV or PDF formats, you can also download the submitted files to your computer (you'll receive a link in your email notifications or you can go to the submissions screen). You can also edit a submission if you want to and/or provide your users the ability to do so.

I have 4 different packages I offer with High, Mid and Low season rates, will I need to create a seperate form for each package and rate? or will I be able to build a single form to do everything through choice fields etc.?

I'm not quite sure what you mean with this question, but you can use conditional logic in your forms to handle your packages in a single form or create a different form for each package. If you can explain a bit further how you handle this packages we can provide a better response to your question.

Can I add a discount option?

Yes, you can include a coupon code for discounted prices, you can read more about this here: http://www.jotform.com/help/233-How-To-Add-Coupon-Code-in-the-Payment-Form

Can I add a deposit option related to a date, ie full payment is required within a time frame of the holiday, a deposit is acceptable in excess of the time frame?

I'm also not sure what do you mean on this question, you mean that you want to accept partial deposits? Or you want to allow your users to give you a deposit if they don't want to use PayPal? If so, you can check the following guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/182-How-to-Create-a-Basic-Multiple-Payment-form to learn how to provide multiple payment options in your forms.

If you have further questions, please let us know.
    Thank you.
