Can I filter a report based on parameter(s) added to the URL that requests the report

    Hi

I'd like to include a report into my webpage. However I'd like to have the report filtered according to a parameter added to the requesting URL.

    Example.
I'd like people to fill out a form to register for an event. They would submit their details and the event ID (supplied with each event) into a generic form used to register for ANY event. The submissions are therefore a list of people and the different events they've registered for - as defined by the associated event ID. The webpage for a particular event would also incorporate a report showing who is registered for the particular event. It could do this if the URL embedded into the webpage that loads the report had optional parameters that the report used to filter its results (e.g. &eventID=E33  would show results only for the event with ID "E33").  This would give us a way to use a common submission form for events, and show the results for only the event we were interested in, depending on the webpage where it is embedded.

Extra parameters - it would be nice if could use the URL parameter method to request that the report add a line showing the total number of matching results and also have the ability to have it show ONLYthe total number of matching results (and no other results) . For example &eventID=E33&count&hideresults   would simply show the total number of people who had registered for event "E33"    similarly    &eventID=E33&count   would show a list of entrants and the total number of results.

It would be great to have this filtering on all reports - not just visual ones.

Hope I've explained the idea sufficiently

    Thanks

    Hope

    Hi,

Unfortunately the filtering for our reports cannot be changed dynamically for visual or regular reports.  There is not currently a way to change what is seen based on any inputs from the user.  This includes altering the URL.  The changes to the reports must be made prior to creating/viewing the report in order for them to be seen.

If you have any further questions, let us know and we will be happy to help.

I would like to add my vote for this feature.  It would be a great addition to reports.
