Will forms created from within EU be saved on EU datacenter only?Asked by cvcdofe on April 09, 2015 at 05:10 PM
Hi, I am using JotForm to collect personal information about pupils in the school I work at in the UK (for trips). I know you have recently been certified as part of the Safe Harbor scheme but I wanted to confirm that forms created within the EU still use servers based within the EU (Germany?)
Thank you for contact us. To confirm we do have a server in Germany. So, your data will still be within EU.
Please inform us if you need further assistance.
I would just like to avoid confusion so I will update what my colleague had replied.
Please note that all of our data centers are linked together, so any data that you add on your form, from any location, will be saved on all of our data centers.
It will never be saved on only one data center.
This allows us to quickly load data when needed, have backups in several locations, etc.
If you must have the data in a single point (like EU) then I would suggest using JotForm Engine.
This is the same Engine that our JotForm Builder uses, but of course without all the widgets and integrations and we (on support here) can not assist you with that approach.
It would however be located on your own server so all data would be stored where you want it.
We would like to let you know that per your question above about keeping your forms and data safely within EU Servers has recently changed slightly due to changes within EU Data Center Laws.
As a result we are happy to inform you that we have now released our solution to Safe Harbor invalidation. You may read more about it through the following link here http://www.jotform.com/eu-safe-forms/ and switch your account over to our European Servers.
