Separating US-based to non US-based customers

Asked by Michael on April 11, 2015 at 03:13 AM
    2. Can we create a direct action field (not sure of proper name), for example, how can we make it so anytime someone enters a US postal code, they are taken directly to the US site and off of this site?  Is that possible?

    Hi there,

It will be hard to do this using the conditions because there are a lot of postal or zip codes.

My recommendation is to use the "Form Collapse" tool so that you can separate the US-based and non US-based customers. Please check the screenshot below.

Here's a demo form of how it will looks like. (http://support.jotform.com/form/51002683638958)

You can also create 2 forms, then create 2 link option in your website for US-based and non US-based.

    Hope this helps. Thank you.

Suggestion?   Why not add a "Country" field to the address section with 2 options - US and Non-US, make it a required field and then a condition - If US then go to URL?   Would that work for the customer?

I like that sample that you provided.  Is there a way to insert a graphics within each section of the form on JotForm?  For example, rather than an entire header with a crest, could we put the crest to one side and the title of the form beside?

For the sample form you have above, we would want to take this one step further and place a US Flag next to the US Based.

This looks like we may be able to use your service and I am excited to see what we can accomplish.

As an additional question, how would i insert a hyperlink in the US form so that anyone clikcing on that form is sent directly to the other companies billing page?  There is an entirely different company that handles the US, Australia and New Zealand orders and we want to direct anyone who hits on those forms to the US Company payment page.

    Is this possible?

Sorry for all the questions, but we are trying to straighten this all out.

    Hi Michael,

Or, you could also do it like this: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/51007342076951. This method is explained from this guide:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/297-Show-or-Hide-multiple-fields-at-once-using-form-collapse-tool

I'm using the "Heading" from Form Tools for the Header with US Flag:

Now, I need to confirm if you wanted to direct users to another link only after "submitting the form". Is this correct? This is for your additional question. If yes, you can use our Change Thank You URL after submission method in the conditional logic settings:

Feel free to submit in the form above to see the logic result.

    Thanks

No - i want to have the users sent to the other site as soon as they indicate that are from the US.  I don't want them filling out any information on our site, they can do that on the American site.

So, as soon as they click US, Australia, or New Zealand, I would like them to go to the US Site.  Is that possible?

I am at a loss on the header tool you used for the American flag.  Whenever I use that tool, it puts the image on a new line in the form all by itself.  How do i place it (like you did) on the same field as the header?

    Sorry,

Further to my last question, can I put more than one graphic on the same header with text between?  For example two flags.

    Hi,

I've cloned Welvin's form and did some minor changes. Can you please check this form: http://support.jotform.com/form/51013055441945

So, as soon as they click US, Australia, or New Zealand, I would like them to go to the US Site.  Is that possible?

Just create a link so that once the customer clicked US, Australia or New Zealand, they will be directed to the other site.

I am at a loss on the header tool you used for the American flag.  Whenever I use that tool, it puts the image on a new line in the form all by itself.  How do i place it (like you did) on the same field as the header?

Please make sure that you are using the "Heading". After inserting heading, you can click the "Header Image" then upload it.

Can I put more than one graphic on the same header with text between?  For example two flags.

Unfortunately, you can only put 1 image in the header image. However, you can use the text tool to insert images.

    Hope this helps. Thank you.

This technique assumes the photo is at a URL.  I have the photo on my system (desktop folder).  Is there a way to insert it from there?

    Hi Michael,

When using the Text field, it is not possible to upload the picture directly from your computer into the the HTML field.

You would need to upload the file from your computer, to your servers and use the URL in the HTML field.

I hope this helps, please inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.
