The preferences explain how to choose how long the information in a form will be saved if they accidentally close the browser, but what does someone need to do to intentionally save the form to complete it later. Will they have the opportunity to "Save"? I'd like to have some instructions at the top of the form explaining what to do if they do not have all of the information ready.

    Also,

is it possible to have someone attach documents to the application if I ask for a letter of reference from them?

    Hi there,

You can put instructions or note at the top of your form. You can use the Text under form tools. For example: This form uses auto-save feature  every 4 seconds just in case you accidentally close your browser.

You can also check this guide as an alternate way of doing it.

I created another thread for your other question. This is the URL/ link of the new thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/554390

    Thank you for understanding.

So the auto-save feature allows it to save...but how does the person go back to the form. Is it just there for them next time they open up JotForm?

Yes, the data will be there the next time they load the form. Note that the data is stored internally in users' browsers, so they will need to use the same computer and browser to see it.

We also have an alternative continue later method which is based on the server side user session saving. However, it requires additional configuration, the method is based on two forms (invitation and main forms), Page Breaks for data saving and session links. You can find more information about the session based continue later option on the next guide:

How to Save Forms to Continue Later

Please note that you can use either enabled Autofill option or enabled session based Continue Later option on form. These methods are not compatible between each other.
