Salesforce: Prevent Jotform from overwriting Salesforce field with empty data

I have been testing the jotform for salesforce app. I cloned a form and integrated it to a SF sanbox. I selected the create or update a new record option.

I can send a new form and create a new contact. That works fine.

I set the update a record based on only one field mobile phone. when I send updated form with slightly different information and the same mobile it updates the record. Seems successful.

However, I noticed, if the new form has fields left empty then all empty fields overwrite existing data as empty. Is their a way to restrict updates only to certain fields of my choice or for some kind of parameter like (if field data is blank update with new information)?

My use case is as follows. Sometimes we have partially completed contact profiles. A contact might come back and give more information in a new form. When that happens I only want the new data to flow to salesforce. So when sf field is blank and form field is not blank update sf field. Is that possible?

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. Technically, the non-empty fields in your Salesforce field shouldn't be replaced by empty data from Jotform. I checked both in the integration settings and in Salesforce but didn't find any that would prevent that from happening.

As a workaround, you may want to mark the most important fields that are mapped with your Salesforce object as required in Jotform's Form Builder. It's usually found under the General tab as you can see below:

Or add more fields in the Salesforce Object fields that are checked. So, before updating the record, it must match all the checked fields as shown below:

I've gone ahead and escalated a request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
