    I would like to downgrade to the basic free service for a while, but cannot see how to do it

    I have checked your account just now and it seems that you were able to cancel your subscription or one of my colleagues were able to process your cancellation request.  Your account is now scheduled for downgrade on November 22, 2011.  

    Once you cancel your subscription, you won't immediately get downgraded as you should maintain the paid subscription status until the time that you have paid for expires. You may also resubscribe anytime you wish whenever you will need to use our paid services again.

    I want to stay on the basic free service  ...do I have to do anything now to stop my account being disabled?

    You don't have to do anything and your account will not be disabled. It will be automatically downgraded to our free service.

    But I've received an email saying my account will be disabled at 12pm tomorrow! The next few weeks is a  crucial time for my busines and as I can't afford for it to be disabled so i paid for the premim service for a month.   Will this automatically revert to the basic after a month if I don't pay for next month?

    Tinyfins, your account will be automatically renewed until you cancel your subscription. If you do not need a Premium account for the next month, then you will have to cancel your subscription before the first day of the next month. When you cancel your subscription you will not be charged again, but your account will stay Premium until the time you have paid for expires.
