I see you can add a TIMER to your survey, do you have an option to set a Cut Off time?

We are setting up an online assessment for applicants which is part of our recruiting process. We allow them 45 minutes to complete the assessment but set a cut off time so that if they go over, it locks them out. Otherwise, they would take 2 hours to finish it!

We used to use Survey Monkey and they turned out to be completely unreliable and we have no faith in their links anymore. However, they did offer the option of a cutoff time. Can you please let me know ASAP if you guys offer that? Thanks so much!

    Hi,

Yes, that is possible with the use of our widgets.

You can select any of the following widgets that matches the style of your jotform:

    Time tracker

    Fancy Timer

    Timer

If you want to limit how much they can spend on the jotform you might want to go for our Countdown widget.

If you have any further questions, let us know and we will be happy to help.

Okay, I have added the Countdown Widget to our assessment which is what we want. HOwever, will this "kick them out" or "lock" them out of the test once that timer is up? If so, how do I set that? Please let me know! Thank you for your prompt response!

David - I have another question. I just realized, Survey Monkey you are able to set it up so that the link automatically sends to the candidate at like 10:00pm (when we are not in the office). Can JotForm do that?

So if we set up a candidate to take the assessment on Saturday at 1pm, is there a way that I can set up the link on Friday afternoon to then send in ~18 hours you know? Also, will it send them a link to this page? To then take the TIMED test, and will kick them out after 45 minutes?

I only ask because since we are no longer using Survey Monkey, those are the features that they offer that we relied heavily on. I hope JotForm can do the same in that sense! I look forward to your response. Thanks so much.

It is not possible to have the link sent out automatically at a certain time.  You may be able to do this with some other sort of email marketing software in conjunction with your form, however it is not possible inherently in JotForm.  You can also send out the link, then disable the form until the time you would like it to be live:

The Countdown widget will simply not allow the user to submit the form after that timer ends.  It will not lock the user out of the form.  If they do not submit the form before the timer ends, they will not be able to submit the form on that run through.  It will not take their current progress and automatically submit the form.

If you have any further questions, let us know and we will be happy to help.

None of our timer widgets allow users to start and stop the timer.  They are all automated as far as I can tell.
