Dates difference Plugin does not show any result

Asked by pippopippo69 on April 24, 2015 at 12:41 PM

Hi, I really need to find a way to count the number of working days starting from one date to today.

The Date Difference Plugin should do what I need but I cannot see any result.

    I am using Chrome.

It indeed does not work. Thanks for reporting. In the meantime, you can just use 2 calendars (Date Time fields)

Then add the calculation widget and do the difference between the 2, see this demo:

Of course my example starts from today to a future date. But you can do it on the opposite side.

Unfortunately, it will require external coding (using the form's source code) to be able to calculate the non-working days if you will only use the 2 datetime field workaround.

I can only suggest we wait for the fixed on the Date Difference widget because it is suppose to be easier to use and was meant more for the functionality (working days) that you need on the form.

We will let you know here as soon as there is update on the status of the ticket.

    Thanks.

    ok, thanks.

Do You have any Idea about when the Date Difference widget will work?

Do You Know if fhe Date Difference widget will deal Holidays (besides sundays and saturdays)?

    tks

    hi everyone.

before stumbling on this thread, i contacted the developer support team for the widgets regarding my question on why only the 2 calendars are appearing in the widget. (the calculate button and exclude fields are missing.)

this is the answer i got:

Its because we found that feature vestigial, and it added very little value for our users.

"We have updated the widget so that the Calculation happens live in the widget. If you would like to use the calculated difference on your form, use the Form Calculation Field to capture it:

Actual form i tried (already deleted since i was interested only in the Exclusion Dropdown Field).

That answer was given by our widgets team manger so it is likely to be the final answer regarding the functionality of the widget.  He will likely follow up with your additional requests in your other thread in the development forum.

Inclusion and exclusion of certain date criteria will be added in as a feature - and we will let you know once that happens.

    Thank you for your feedback.

As I line up the features for implementation - This would also be a great chance to hear which other features you may be interested in while using the dates difference widget - if you have further suggestions, kindly respond - Thanks.

    Day Exclusions have been added:

Any of the days checked will not be included in the difference calculation.

Check it out - please let us know - thanks.

Thanks so much for considering to bring back the days exclusion functionality, Titus !

I tried to check the demo page and also create a form using just the Dates Difference widget - but the widget doesn't seem to load. I'ts been over 5 minutes since I refreshed the demo page and my trial page - to no avail. My current download speed is 2.4 Mbps.

    Sorry about that Randy,

Just fixed that - the demo should work now.

You should also be able to also add a new widget fairly quickly without hiccups.

    Please check..

    Hi Titus.

    Follow up question.

The Dates Difference widget calculates the number of day which includes all the dates specified in the widget, right? For example, March 13 - 18 2016 is calculated as 6 days (March 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18).

But why is it different when I calculated using form calculation with the formula:
last rental day - first rental day?
    which gives me 5 days only (March 13-14, 14-15, 15-16, 16-17, 17-18)?

Here's the link of the form

This is the link of the related thread

    Thanks.
