Hello Welvin, Im working on something for my department and it basically requires the above topic of pre-populating a drop down field with a department specific option. Id like to know if you can help in teaching me how to do this. The example form you gave (with the cake instance) is exactly what im trying to achieve.

You can use this app: http://prepopulate.jotform.io/ to get the URL you would need to use to prepopulate the form.

For example, using the form my colleague provided in his example you would generate the URL like this:

You can test the generated URL here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/51136401044945?notes=Read-Only%20Field!&idNumber=RO%20-%202111000&chooseSnack=Cake

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hi, I am tryin to use th http://prepopulate.jotform.io/ for a Dynamic puldown menu and it is not working, it does not shows the dynamic pulldown options to choose.

Nevertheless I do not know how to construct it by hand, I tryed few ones but w/o success, can you help me?

example: suppose {var1}="Green-Car - 2016.07.23" on the database, how to pass this using URL codes? Tyed URLENCODE too.

    https://form.jotformpro.com/xxxxxxx/&var1=Green-Car%20-%202016.07.23

    any clue?
