I'm getting submissions without the file uploads on a required File Upload field

Good morning,

I created a form JAF Community Service Project. I made one of the questions (Community Service Letter of Verification) mandatory in order for student to move on and submit. However, I am getting submissions without the upload. I went through the jotform myself and was not able to continue.

Can you please help with this?

I checked your form's submissions page and saw that all the recent submissions have a file upload for the 'Community Service Letter of Verification' File Upload field. But there are some entries from September 27 and earlier dates that have blank data. Are those the entries you're referring to without the file uploads?

If so, is the field already set to required even before those submissions were made? We just want to confirm because it's possible that you just recently set the field as required after those submissions so the users were able to skip uploading a file.

Also, I cloned and tested your form and I was able to proceed with the submission. Here's a screencast showing my test:

You mentioned that you were not able to continue when you tested your form. Are you getting an error message when you click Submit? If there's an error message, please share a screenshot of it. We have a guide here showing how you can post screenshots here in our Support Forum. Is it also okay if we do a test submission on your form to see if we'll encounter the same error?

Hello, I had set the required field since the first day I created the form. As you saw, there are some that were able to be submitted without any attachment. I am trying to figure out how they are doing this. What I meant about not being able to continue is that without the upload, I couldn't continue. That is what the kids should be seeing but they are submitting without the upload. This is what I don't understand.

But to summarize, I had set the field set to required since the day I created the form.

Thanks for the clarification. Since that File Upload field is set to required and has no conditions tied to it that can hide it on the form, all form users won't be able to submit it without uploading a file there first. I also tested a cloned version of your form and I'm unable to proceed to the next page without uploading a file:
